Better Fish Production through Windmill Aeration Systems
As an aquaculture consultant, I try to minimize fish disease, fish kill, parasites in order to maximize fish production. Koenders Windmill Aeration Systems help in North Florida to economically improve water quality by aeration. This year in anticipation of our first hurricane we made the decision to leave all of our windmills up for hurricane survival research. After experiencing four category 2-4 hurricanes with only a 30% windmill mortality rate we were quite impressed. Your windmills operated well in winds as high as 112 MPH - ( blade rotation, aeration and destratification were doing double time). We found the secret for Windmill's survival in these category hurricanes is to " Stake Down" (Koenders recommends concrete the stakes down) - We had all the units staked down however, one site became so water saturated from the torrential rains the stakes pulled up. When the units hit the ground going maximum hurricane speed they self destroy.
Needless to say we are very impressed with Koender's Windmills even during hurricanes. I will be ordering a replacement in short order. Thanks for helping improve Florida's aquaculture.

Windmill Aeration Improves Health of 28 Acre Lake
On July 18, 2000 we installed our first Koenders Windmill Aeration System on the shoreline of our 28 acre lake at 8850 altitude in Colorado. This windmill worked with such efficiency that we installed another windmill the year after.
The windmill works year round and provides open water area in freezing weather to provide continuous supply of oxygen. The windmill operates efficiently in low winds speeds and the windmill aeration systems have exceeded our expectations. They have been efficient and require little maintenance.
The windmill aeration systems have allowed our fishing club to stock larger amounts of fish due to the lake aeration throughout the year.

Windmill Aeration Helps Fish and Pond Remain Healthy 365 Days a Year I am sure my fish could not have survived this winter had it not been for my Koender's windmill. The first picture was taken the week before Christmas. That was the last time I saw it completely free of ice. Since then I have had one partial melt around the edges which lasted for a couple of days but it has also been cold enough to freeze it over completely. Even then, you could still see where the windmill was working, aerating the water under the ice. Today, after two days of unseasonably warm weather, we are back in the deep freeze… but my Koender's windmill just keeps working (notice the open water near the center of the pond!)… churning in fresh air deep under water. As I was riding my Harley around Valley City last summer, I could not help but notice the number of windmills appearing recently by ponds large and small. I cannot imagine anyone in Ohio who has a stocked pond ever being without such a device again. I know I will never be. It pays for itself with every restocking it saves! Thanks again for helping me acquire such an essential and functional product. It gave me a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment to assemble and set it up myself. What a great environmental statement!
